The images above are of the front cover, an illustration page, and the title page. A timeless Christmas classic about a young, poor, and foolish (or were they?) couple who sacrificed for each other their greatest treasures. Printed in 2005 on the 100th anniversary of the original publication of Magi, this edition also includes a brief overview of O. Henry's life and an insight into the writing of this piece, created in three hours with inspiration from a bottle of Scotch! This 24-page book has been handset in Bulmer types, with a sprinkling of Parsons and Friar for ‘seasoning.’ It is printed in four colors on Arches Rives, a French mould-made sheet. The title page ornament is hand colored. The original scratchboard engravings are by Steve Edwards. One hundred fifty copies were printed. Copies of a previous edition were hand sewn into marbled paper wrappers. This is a special case-bound edition, cloth quarter-bound with marbled paper sides and a printed paper label on the front cover. $60.00.
